Recently I worked with Mike Macey who I met through a DMB workshop, to investigate new medical insurance options. I felt that the Cobra group rates were too much and I needed to investigate other options. My cobra would be expiring later this year and I would have to start over with a new deductible in the middle of the year which I didn’t think was a good move.

Mike talked to us about our family needs, activities, medical history etc. and he was able to get us on an individual policy with a locked in rate for three years. What this means is I know how much my monthly insurance medical premiums will be for the next three years. If my husband or I land a job opportunity we will closely look at the insurance offered and evaluate if the company plan is better or not. This can also be used as a negotiating tool – if you don’t want the companies insurance, which tends to cost them a lot, you may be able to negotiate more vacation or higher wages.

I was so comfortable with Mike that I allowed him to us my name and experience in an Agilent mailing for DBM.
